Thanks for your comment, Richard. You’re right: zinc does help many people. One does need to be careful about taking too much zinc, since too much zinc can weaken the immune system instead of strengthening it.

Just read your article and I can offer one suggestion. Take a daily dose of the Vitamine Zinc. I worked in a zinc processing plant several years ago for 10 weeks and was exposed to zinc dust daily. I did not have even hardly a sniffel for almost two years. I was told by the plant manager that it was a very rare case to have an employee call in sick, even those who worked in the ‘air conditioned’ offices.
I have taken a daily 500 mg dose of Zinc for the past 10 years and have not missed a single day of work due to a cold or flu. I might get feeling bad but not that bad that I could not at least make it to work and get things started for the other workers.
Zinc is not the ‘magic bullet’ but it sure helps. I also keep a bottle of hand sanitizer on my work desk both at work and home.

Preachers need to preach more about the person of Jesus…as well as the Father and Holy Spirit. So much preaching these days is focused on us - the church in particular. Many growing up in the church don’t hear enough about God.

Coach Dungy carries many of the same attributes as the former N.O. Saints star Danny Abramawhits (know this is spelled wrong) who is strong in his faith and will continue to be a role modle for young men and women because he lives what he speaks.
Well done Coach Dungy, may future coaches follow the example you have given.

As I was reading this I was reminded of a meditation prayer written by a priest who worked among the poor. It was titled “Come to the Quiet” and sure goes along well with your thoughts Jim.
